About the Instructors
ALSENY YANSANE is a dynamic teacher and fourteen year veteran of the world renowned touring ensemble, Les Ballets Africains. Alseny skillfully executes dance movements with strength and grace. His skills on the djembe and doundoun have been described as melodic and lyrical supported by immense power and intensity. His friendly and encouraging style nurtures beginning drummers and dancers while simultaneously challenging more advanced students to push the boundaries.

FANA BANGOURA performed as a soloist for the national groups of Guinea including, Percussions de Guinee and Les Ballets Africains. He also served as Percussion Director for Fareta, a ballet company founded by Karim Keita. Fana has a wonderfully lyrical style. He has the ability to demonstrate power and stamina while maintaining the beauty of his instrument. He is widely recognized for his abilities as an outstanding artist and patient and knowledgeable instructor.
